Short Recipe: Cinnamon Muffins With Streusel Topping


Ever since getting a set of cupcake liners from my secret santa last christmas, I have been finding recipes for muffins and cupcakes just to make sure that these go well used! This recipe for cinnamon muffins is definitely one of the best I’ve come across because of the moist texture you get. Oh, and not to mention Do give it a shot.

Ingredients for Cinnamon Muffin with Streusel Topping: makes 10

Cinnamon Muffin

1 1/2 cups flour

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tsp baking powder

1 egg, beaten

1/2 cup oil

Streusel Topping

2 tbsp flour

5 tbsp sugar

1/2 tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp butter


  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon).
  3. Combine the wet ingredients (milk, egg, oil) in another mixing bowl.
  4. Using a whisk, mix the ingredients till evenly distributed. Make sure you do not overmix it. Otherwise, the muffins will turn out tough.
  5. Fill 10 of the 12 muffin holes with the mixture, and fill the remaining two with water – this is what makes the muffin so moist!
  6. To make the streusel topping, combine the ingredients and use your hands to mix it until crumbles are formed.
  7. Top the muffins with the streusel topping and bake at 180C for 20-25 minutes.
